Minot Rotary Club, chartered in 1918, counts 114 members, more than twice as many as Skien Rotary Club, and 8 years older.

When Hermod Monsen Monsen from Skien RC visited Minot RC on Oct 8, 2007, the President asked all members with roots in Norway to raise. It looked like more than 50 % knew that some of their ancestors came from Norway!!

Many of the activities in Minot RC are focused on youth. They sponsor in-bound and out-bound Rotary Exchange students every year. They have raised, through various projects and solicitations, more than $ 400.000 for their Scholarship Fund. Three years ago Minot RC presented a Student Exchange Plan for Skien RC. The idea was to get 7 students from Søve at Ulefoss in Norway to visit Minot. However, much to our regret, Søve was unable to meet the invitation from Minot RC.

The President of Minot RC, John McMartin visited Skien in June 2007.

On the following Thursday, Ivar Stulen and Hermod Monsen from Skien RC visited Minot Sunrise RC, - at 7 am (!) We attended a great entertainment presented by Magic City Campus Playmakers. The group gave a wonderfully displayed preview to the musical "Oklahoma". There is nothing quite like a musical for breakfast !
